KGZS-Zavod KR is an advisory service body under the Agriculture and Forestry Chamber of Slovenia. It acts as a public advisory service to Slovenian fish farmers, forestry and fishery workers. KGZS-KR is also responsible for the transfer of scientific achievements for their implementation in all agricultural sectors, while ensuring environmentally friendly and market-efficient farming. KGZS-KR has expertise in fish farm breeding and fish farm management, construction and renovation of aquaculture facilities, lobby in policy, education and outreach activities.
Role in EWEAS
KGZS-KR will actively participate in the analysis of the training needs of the aquaculture staff in terms of energy efficiency and water consumption, as well as assisting in information gathering on fish farm facilities from other partner countries (Italy, Ireland, Spain and Slovenia). They will also be involved in the module selection for the development of the EWEAS training programme. Moreover, KGZS-KR will develop a country report on current the energy and water consumption patterns, deficiencies and bottlenecks and they will provide solutions to improve the sustainability of the aquaculture sector in Slovenia. KGZS-KR deep knowledge of the aquaculture sector in Slovenia and their continuous contact with fish farmers will allow them to support the project to detect potential improvements in the energy and water management systems of the fish farms facilities.
