AquaTT

About

AquaTT is a SME specialising in knowledge management and transfer, dissemination and communication, training and outreach activities, as well as project management. AquaTT has over 23 years of experience working in the successful design and management of European Commission-financed projects under a number of programmes including H2020, FP7, FP6, Interreg, Erasmus + and Lifelong Learning, in scientific fields related to the marine, food, energy, health and environment; all key sectors for Europe’s sustainability.

AquaTT have been involved in a number of relevant training projects, as a leader of Exploitation, Dissemination and Transfer of Innovation work packages in SeaofSkills (Enriching Fishers’ Knowledge, Skills and Competences, Erasmus+, 2014-2017), in AQUATNET (European Thematic Network in the field of aquaculture, fisheries and aquatic resources management, EU SOCRATES+ ERASMUS, 2005-2015) in 2Fish (Lifelong Learning Programme, 2011-2014). AquaTT led various tasks focusing on developing reports on the fisheries sector needs, development of training programmes in the fisheries and aquaculture sector in-line with EU best-practice.

Role in EWEAS

Leading Work Package 4 “Dissemination and Exploitation of the Project and its Results”, AquaTT will hold the overall responsibility for promoting the project and its objectives, ensuring effective external communication, dissemination and knowledge transfer of EWEAS results and applications leading to optimal exploitation and impact of its research outputs and products through the use of a range of suitable communication and dissemination tools.

Key people

Mr David Murphy is the manager of AquaTT. He has over 18 years of experience working in EC projects in the field of Education, Training and RTD, having coordinated nine and participated in over forty. He coordinated Aqua-tnet for five years and was facilitator of the Knowledge Management Thematic Area of the EATiP, the European Aquaculture Technology and Innovation Platform, bringing together private and public stakeholders to promote and coordinate research and development to improve the competitiveness of the European aquaculture industry. Mr Murphy was instrumental in the development of the H2020 funded COLUMBUS project, a flagship knowledge transfer project and is also involved in Sea Change, a best practice Ocean Literacy H2020 funded project. Ms Marieke Reuver is the RTD Programme Manager in AquaTT and has over 12 years’ experience working in EC projects. She has extensive experience in managing EC research projects, dealing specifically with knowledge management and transfer, communication, dissemination and stakeholder engagement. She has been working as a package leader for over five H2020, ten FP7 projects and four Lifelong Learning Programmes, as well as being a member of advisory boards, Steering and Management Committees. Marieke Reuver is an animal scientist, specialised in Animal Production Systems and Aquaculture and Fisheries at Wageningen University (the Netherlands), where she graduated in 2004. She has previously worked as an education assistant at the Aquaculture and Fisheries group in Wageningen managing aspects of tertiary level course development and coordination.
